Heidi Grant Halvorson knows why none of us understand each other

A frequent contributor to publications such as the Harvard Business Review, The Huffington Post, and 99U, Dr. Heidi Grant Halvorson is a social psychologist who delivers her research findings with insight and humor.

In this Relate Live San Francisco keynote address, Heidi explores the reasons why no one really understands us. As she says to open her talk "I don't know all of you. I don't know exactly what your colleagues think of you or what your customers think of you or what your partner might think of you, but I do know that you don't know either."

To help us know, she shows us what we can do to understand ourselves better and then help our perceivers to do the same thing, see us they way we see ourselves. Achieving this breakthrough helps us come across the way we intend to, which not only helps us live better personal lives, but also become better leaders and build better long-term customer relationships.

When you're done with the video, read Heidi's Relate articles Why your colleagues don’t get you and What successful leaders have, and how to get it.
